Hi - I am from Italy (please forgive my poor english).
A great experience for the male tourists in Genova could be the afternoon tour of the prostitutes in the historical centre, close to the "Porto Antico" (old harbour). This area is very safe, despite of apparance (better to go there casually dressed and without cameras and other objects revealing you are a tourist: better if girls will think you are a sailor). Beautiful and quiet (buildings from 10th to 12th century, and there are no cars in the streets), the prices are extremely low compared to Italian standards : from 50.000 to 100.000 lire (25 to 50 US$) for a fuck in a room (not alwys clean - quality of the girls and the services are variable, but many of them are really young, pretty and clean). If you go walking on the itinerary I'm going to tell you, from 4 to 7 p.m. you will find 50/100 girls (the most of them from Santo Domingo and other Latin-American countries) waiting in the streets or looking from the windows of the 1st floors (so, there is no reason to stop girls you meet during your walk: they probably are not prostitutes. Many Genovesi and immigrants live and work in this area).
The best thing to do is to get a map of the area and take an exploratory tour after lunch (from 1 to 3 p.m.), when a few people is in the streets and girls are not there. This will help you learn the way, and the 2nd time you have no problems.
Start from Piazza Caricamento (100m. from the Aquarius); go through Via Pontereale to Piazza Panchi; in Piazza Banchi turn left to Via San Luca, and then the 1st lane on the right - the places of the girls start here. then turn left to Vico Mele - then right to Vico Spinola - then left to Via Posta Vecchia - then right to Via Della Maddalena, and explorate the lanes around too, expecially the last 3 on your left before the end of the street. From there turn right to Vico Rosa, then right in Via Macelli di Soziglia (an incredible street of ancient shops selling various items) and straight to Via Orefici and Piazza Banchi again.
It seems complicated, but after you learned it the whole tour doesn't last more than 10/15 minutes. I like to do it almost once evey time I go to Genova - a pleasant adventure and a trip through the middle age !
