Your humble scribe, being the occasional recipient of electronic missives
inquiring about his knowledge on various matters pertaining to this group,
has taken it upon himself to collect a few of the more regularly occurring
questions and address them here for the benefit of all. (A wise man once
said that it's better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you're
stupid than to open it and remove all doubt. Needless to say, that quote
never made it to my ears.)

If anyone has any responses, bones to pick or anything resembling a
response, YHS would greatly appreciate it if you'd post it to the group.
The whole point of this exercise is to cut down on my unsolicited e-mail,
as I no longer have the time to handle it in the way I'd like, which I
hope has generally been prompt, courteous and informative.

Q. How do you manage your newsgroups with the limited functionality of
AOL's news reader? It's a real pain to cut through the spam.

A. I do one of two things:
1) Schedule a FlashSession (generally for the wee hours so that I don't
get a busy signal), download all posts then and delete all the spam when I
go through my personal filing cabinet.
2) Sign on, manually go to the newsgroups, open them, click on Mark All
Read, then go through and manually mark as unread all the ones of
interest, and then download them in a FlashSession.

Cutting back on the number of newsgroups also helps. I used to peruse
alt.sex.brothels, alt.sex.escorts.ads, alt.sex.services and
alt.sex.movies. Because of all the duplicative spam and the low level of
information in the other groups, I'm now down to just a.s.p. and
rec.arts.movies.erotica.

Q. How do you secure your AOL Personal Filing Cabinet files from prying
eyes?

A. Parts of this answer may be applicable to the storage of other news
readers' files, depending on how their filing structure is set up. The
obvious first choice is to keep them on a computer that no one else has
access to, perhaps a notebook computer that you take with you to and from
work. I have a batch file that zips PFC to diskettes every morning, then
renames my PFC to something else. That serves as a backup in case I need
it and makes it exceedingly unlikely that anyone will stumble across it
accidentally.

(I just got a Zip drive last weekend and haven't had the chance to play
with it. I'd like to try running AOL from the Zip drive and securing the
Zip disk when I'm not around. I have no idea if it will work, but I'm
going to try.)

Another idea is to maintain two separate, complete copies of AOL on your
computer, one in a directory called AOL, the other in one called AOL30 (or
AOL25, or whatever). Use one copy only for sensitive matters, and use a
discreet screen name with this copy only. Make this copy accessible only
through the Run command. On my Win95 machine, for example, you have to
click on Run, Browse, My Computer, C:, AOL30 and WAOL.EXE to load this
copy of AOL.

Your other copy should never be used with your discreet screen name and
should be accessible via an icon on your desktop.

Q. What escorts do you recommend in Dallas?

A. Recommendations:

$100/30 minutes: Heather (number temporarily not available), Racquel (214)
504-6878. Both work out of the same apartment, and both advertise with
their real photos in the Sundown. Heather's a tall, buxom blonde; Racquel
is a 5-4, more Rubenesque brunette. I've heard nothing but good things
about the service that both provide.

$200: Sherri 214-855-7621. 5-11, mid-30s blonde, 42D. Not as pretty as
her Usenet fan would lead you to believe, but she enjoys her work, both
pleasing and being pleased. Absolutely great service.

Krissy (KrissyofTX@aol.com) 5-8, blonde, 34C (recently upgraded from a B,
sigh). I haven't seen her but have heard very good things about her.
Please tell her you heard about her through me.

$250 Diana (ddiamond@flash.net; http://www.acedirectory.com/diana.htm.
Diana's had several reviews published in a.s.p., and almost everything has
been favorable. She's prettier than her pictures and seems intent on
providing her clients with an enjoyable experience. Please tell her you
heard about her through me.

$300: Nicky (NickyDFW@aol.com) 214-265-1207, pager 214-807-4294 (enter *89
after the number for a priority recall). A slender, petite blonde who's
very good at providing unrushed sessions that some characterize as very
much like a girlfriend's and is a good conversationalist as well.
Provides full service no more than twice a day. Please tell her you heard
about her through me.

Q. What escorts do you recommend in [other Texas city]?

A. I don't have a lot of first-hand information on other Texas cities.
You might try these URLs for some pointers:
http://www.paranoia.com/faq/prostitution
http://aoo.members.com/sculptor09/clarity.htm (for Austin information).
************
Q. What escorts do you recommend in [any other city on the planet]?

A. My experiences outside Texas are even more limited, especially with the
recent demise of Jillian Bradley's in New York.
Again, you might try http://www.paranoia.com/faq/prostitution and see
what's there.

You could also try posting a note to the newsgroup. Be sure to use [ASP]
and REQ, as well as the city name, in the subject header. (Generally, by
the way, I've found that literate requests with a little about yourself
and your likes and dislikes get a lot more and better responses than ones
such as, "lookinG for ESCort in houtSON. EMAIL with info.")

Q. What do you know about the modeling studios in Dallas-Fort Worth?

A. I'll address first the ones that advertise heavily, with billboards and
large ads in the Sundown and ANE, ones such as X'otic T'z, Fantasy Nights,
Dreamscapes, etc. If you're into watch-and-whack shows, these are the
places for you. Generally, you pay a door fee, tip the model and watch her
dance while you "make yourself comfortable." You ought to be able to do
this for a total of $100, maybe more, maybe less. In Arlington, I'm told,
a city ordinance requires that the doors be open at all times, so you can
imagine how much fun those places must be.

Your chances of getting more personal attention are definitely better at
the Asian spas and a few modeling studios on Harry Hines.

Q. What's Diana like?

A. In regards to the specific nature of this question I don't know. She's
refused to take me as a client because it might jeopardize our friendship,
a stance for which I respect the hell out of her. I've had lunch with her
three times and can tell you that she's sharp, better looking than her
pictures, and genuinely desirous of providing her clients with an
enjoyable experience.

Q. Is Summer/Krissi still working?

A. To the best of my knowledge, the lady who advertised in the Observer as
Krissi and had the AOL address Summer2424@aol.com and whose virtues were
extolled by me in a December post, has retired.
*****************
Q. I have no experience with escort services; do you have any general
wisdom to share?

A. Unfortunately, not much. I try to rely on personal recommendations
from cyber-correspondents; I've found them much more productive than
cold-calling on my own. Although you can generally assume that an escort
will provide full service, sometimes that's not the case, and making that
determination before she arrives at your door can be difficult. Some will
not perform oral; some will, and without a condom; others will but will
insist on a condom; some do Greek (or so I've heard ;)); others won't.
Some are real ladies; others are whores, a word that I don't like to use
but that describes them pretty well. In short, it's a real crapshoot out
there. When talking with the agency, describe the type of lady you'd like
to see. Ask what happens if you don't like her looks or if it's apparent
that you and she won't have a good time; some places charge a
cancellation fee, while others will send you another lady. If you'd like
someone who has another career, say that; if you're interested in a
magazine model (that's one of my favorite fantasies, which I have yet to
fulfill), inquire. In many cases, the agency will have the girl call you
(or you'll make contact with an individual girl yourself), and you can be
a little less circumspect in discussing your desires. (For legal reasons,
many agencies have their girls sign disclaimers, in which the girls agree
not to perform acts of prostitution while working for the agency, under
penalty of termination. This is generally a sham to protect the agency
from legal consequences.)

Q. What do you think about posting phone numbers or sending ladies'
numbers to (hopefully) potential clients who answer posts to a.s.p.? The
last thing I want to do is give a vice cop info causing a hardworking,
honest entertainer legal headaches.

A. Part 1 of the short answer is that, as far as I'm concerned, a number
advertised by the lady herself in a newspaper, magazine or newsgroup is
fair game for distribution here. If the number is not generally
available, it probably shouldn't be posted. The other part of the short
answer is that the ultimate responsibilityfor structuring the transaction
in a safe manner resides with the lady.

The longer answer: I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV. Having
said that, I doubt that anything posted in a.s.p. is legally admissible in
an application for a warrant, and I doubt it's usable as evidence in a
prosecution. I also think that if a cop wants to bust a prostitute, there
are easier ways to do it than surfing the Net. All most would have to do
is pick up a copy of the city's alternative weekly and start calling a few
numbers. I still believe that it's easier for cops to concentrate on
street hookers in terms of good publicity and from a public-health
perspective, too.

My perspective on posting information here is that this is a medium to
help guys spend their dollars wisely and to steer business in the
direction of ladies and places who deserve it and away from those who
don't.

The only problem I can foresee from posting a number is a sudden deluge of
calls -- some of them undoubtedly hangups and pranks -- arising from the
publicity.

When in doubt, ask the lady. Most of them advertise somehow, and most use
numbers that are at least once removed from their personal lives -- second
lines, cell phones, beepers, etc. -- so I'm not sure why mentioning those
already-pubic numbers in the group would be a problem.
**************
Q. What is my risk of arrest?

A. You're pretty safe using an incall establishment or lady, or an outcall
service or lady, that someone you know or trust has recommended. For the
most part, police activity against prostitution in this country focuses on
the supply side, rather than the demand side. That means that the girls
are generally far more at risk than you are. The exception to this is
street prostitution, where, in many jurisdictions, police officers pose as
prostitutes and arrest guys for soliciting. In many places, the auto from
which the solicitation occurred can be confiscated. That's where you
might get "stung." I suppose it would be possible for the police to set
up a new house or take over an existing one to try and work on the demand
side, but the logistics of that would overwhelm even the best-funded
force, and the returns would diminish rapidly as word spread on the
street.
